Slowing down frees us from the world’s control. It highlights how a fast-paced life breeds distraction, impatience, and irrational thought. We regain our sense of who we truly are when we slow down. It connects us to the spiritual reality God intended for us to live.
Slowing down helps us see clearly. And when we see, we notice God in more profound ways. We were created in His image. When we participate in His beautiful world our soul comes alive.
Slowing down embraces rest. By resting, we shift our hearts toward God by saying, “Lord, I believe you are working alongside me in this moment. Lives change because of Your grace, not just my good intentions. Even in busyness, I trust You enough to rest.”
Slowing down allows us also to embrace being present. When we are present in the Presence it tells Him that in that moment, “I choose you. No phone. No distraction. Just You.”
Slowing down also ushers in grace for every aspect of our life. It gives us a strength we never knew we had to do what we never thought possible. Grace relies on the power of God to supply our every need. And it keeps perfection and narcissism at bay, because grace knows the truth that we can do nothing outside of our Heavenly Father.
When we slow, we know.
