finding beautiful, finding you january/25

In stillness find your private place at His table.
In stillness find your private place at His table.

What does it mean to be still? The word "still" brings to mind images of quietness and calm, a state where there seems to be no movement or activity. However, stillness is more complex than this simple interpretation. It is not just the absence of physical motion; it embodies a deep sense of inner peace and clarity that can exist even in chaos. Stillness represents a productive rest, a time for the mind and body to rejuvenate and replenish their energy. In moments of stillness, one can engage in reflection, contemplation, and a deeper connection to Abba, allowing transformation to occur.

How does God view stillness? Stillness is often linked with peace, trust, and surrender. For example, the Bible contains numerous passages encouraging believers to be still and recognize God's sovereignty. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God," indicating that stillness is not only a physical state but also a spiritual attitude of humility and recognition of the Father's omnipotent nature. Amid life's busyness, it is easy to become distracted and lose sight of one's purpose. However, through stillness, we can clear our minds of clutter and noise, opening a channel for holy communication. In these moments of quiet reflection, we gain clarity on our path, discernment in decision-making, and a renewed sense of direction.

We invite you to join us on a journey to discovering what it means to be still and reset your soul. Join us for a twenty-one-day journey we are calling Still. The twenty-one-day devotional and accompanying journal can be found by clicking HERE.

Through stillness, we release the need for control and become receptive to God's plan. Not filling every moment with activity creates space for God's divine work to unfold.

Being quiet in God's presence can help soothe our inner turmoil. In stillness, we trust that clarity will emerge. This 21-day devotional journey focused on being still provides an opportunity to experience the profound healing power of silence.

Five Senses: Mindful Meditation

Recall a moment that brought you immense joy - visualize that moment in your mind.

{Pause and take a deep breath. Allow yourself to be present.}

Now take a few minutes to scan your senses to see what you discover.

See. Notice everything around you. Capture the images your eyes perceive.

Hear. What do you hear? Which sounds fill your joyful space?

Feel. How does your happiness feel? What sensations does touch bring to your blissful moment?

Taste. What flavors do you experience? How does taste play a role in your joyful memory?

Smell. What scents are in the air? How does happiness enhance your sense of smell?

As your senses come alive, be present for a few moments. {Pause}

Thank you, Abba, for this wonderful sensory experience that is etched in my memory and anchored in my heart.
