rest: mindful meditation

One-Minute Solitude Meditation

Find a relaxing position. Soften your eyes. Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. Set a timer for one minute as you “still” in solitude reflecting on the Goodness of the Father.

Lecto Divina - What do you hear?

Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 (ESV- Anglicized)

Read. Reflect. Respond. Rest.

Visio Divina - What do you see?

Meditative Reading

Our bodies have a natural need for rest. When we neglect this essential requirement, they cease to function as intended. This is part of our inherent design by God. Resting does not involve activities such as exercise, cooking, or reading, which are tools for relaxation, not true rest. Authentic rest can only be found in one source: Abba! By turning to Him for our rest, He lightens our yoke, lifts our weariness, and provides a peaceful refuge. This kind of rest originates from a place of pure solitude, devoid of distractions like phones or electronics, offering pure tranquility. Without a daily dose of genuine rest, our bodies, souls, and spirits become depleted.

Adoration

Abba, I desire to find rest in the ease of your yoke, allowing my soul to be liberated and breathe freely.
